Newsletter 19th Jan 2015

Apologies for missing newsletters – it has been very busy. Unfortunately we’ve had to withdraw from the Dance Festival though we will perform the dance at the end of term Award Assembly…

 Dance Festival

Sadly we have had to pull out of our involvement in the Dance Festival, mainly because of the timing. The children have worked really hard on their routine and will perform it at the Award Assembly on Friday 6th Feb (the last day of this half-term).

Confidential Code of Reporting

The school has a Confidential Code of Reporting (sometimes known as the Whistle-blowing Policy). This provides guidance about what to do if you have concerns about a member of staff and feel unable to discuss it with the school. Anyone who would like to see a copy can ask for one in the office or see our website.

Problem-Solving Week

This week is Problem Solving Week. The children will be working on word-based problems in Maths throughout the week. Please help in whatever way you can with any homework they are given.

Music Day

Friday 6th Feb will be Music Day in school. The children will be composing and performing various pieces of music throughout the day and we hope to put on a performance at the Award Assembly scheduled for that day.

Art Project

The junior children will be taking part in an Art project on Monday 2nd Feb. We will be joined by an artist linked to the Fringe Festival and they will be working on prints.

Collection for Mrs Adams

Mrs Adams is still not very well. It was suggested to me that we have a collection to buy some flowers. If you would like to contribute, please see me or Mrs Sparkes.

World Book Day

World Book Day is Thursday 5th March. We will be having a special Reading Morning that day and would like to invite parents, friends and family in to school to share the event with us. More details will follow.

Chinese New Year CAGES Event

To mark the upcoming Chinese New Year, CAGES are planning a Chinese feast on Saturday 21st Feb from 6:30 p.m. Tickets are on sale – please see Mrs Sparkes. All proceeds will go towards CAGES funds.
