Mrs Plevey’s Sports Bit
There’s lots going on over the next two or three terms in terms of sports and PE. Yesterday the juniors went to St Thomas More’s school in Buxton to take part in a basketball event. They had a great time and were very well behaved (see photos), though we weren’t quite able to come away with the trophy! Coming up we have a good range of sporting activities for all ages: Sports Hall Athletics for the Juniors on 20th Feb, Infant Athletics on 3rd Mar and Gymnastics on 13th Mar. We have also booked 12 weeks worth of climbing sessions with Whitehall starting in March. Mrs Plevey will send a separate letter (see attached) with more details. It looks like being a sporty and active few months!
World Book Day
World Book Day is Thursday 5th March. We will be having a special Reading Morning that day and would like to invite parents, friends and family in to school to share the event with us. More details will follow.
Chinese New Year CAGES Event
To mark the upcoming Chinese New Year, CAGES are planning a Chinese feast on Saturday 21st Feb from 6:30 p.m. Tickets are on sale – please see Mrs Sparkes. All proceeds will go towards CAGES funds.
Payments for Whitehall are now due – please can you pass any outstanding payments to Mrs Sparkes.
Parent View – Ofsted Website
When Ofsted come (which they inevitably will) one of the ways they measure success at the school is to ask parents for their views. They may choose to speak to you directly while they are here or take a look at our questionnaire responses, but they will certainly read comments left on their Parent View website. It is really easy to access the website (just search Parent View) and follow the instructions. We hope you are happy with the education your children get at our school and that you will be able to make a few positive comments on Parent View. If you are struggling to get access, please pop in and we will help.
We have been asked to make it known that there is a holiday cottage in the village which needs a cleaner and manager. If anyone is interested please contact school and we can pass details on.
Clerk to the Governors
Sarah-Jane, our Clerk to Governors, has resigned her post which means we have a vacancy. Anyone who has experience of clerking or thinks they may be able to fulfil the role should speak to me or Mrs Hofman or any member of the Governing Body.
