Look at the exciting things we get up to here in the Infants at Earl Sterndale.

Welcome back to another new academic year!

This Autumn term 24' we will be learning about all about ‘’The Rainforest" and later into the Autumn term, "Famous People". Our geography will focus on looking at Brazil and the Amazon rainforest. We will be looking at photographs of life in the rainforest, particularly focusing on the animals who live there. Later in the term our history topic will move on to learning about famous people, such as Guy Fawkes, Edward Jenner, Elizabeth 1 and more. Our Art and DT activities are also linked to these topics, taking inspiration for collage from Henri Rousseau and making jointed crocodiles and sloths.

Our key experiences in EYFS this term focus around Incredible Me! During our first few weeks the children will be encouraged to talk about their home life and the different experiences that they have. We will be talking about families and the different roles members have, what our homes are like and comparing the different kinds of houses. We will be finding out what the children are interested in and taking our learning forward based on their interests. They will also have the opportunity to learn some things about life in the rainforest with Year 1 & 2.
