Belinda Woods 12th June - A woodland cleared!
This week our little people wanted to get together for a nettle pulling session with the odd thistle too! And a bug hunt along the way.
There were just a few too many nettles, growing by the week so the children decided we needed to clear a few to make it safer to play. Armed with work gloves and well covered with overalls, they did an amazing job! Brilliant teamwork and some great learning about plants and their root system! It was careful work but we had plenty of dock leaves on hand just in case. We needed to pull the nettles from the root, getting them is most important, so they don't grow back. See the before and after pictures,' stamina' was word of the day!!!!
While some were busy with nettles, others took turns making a Father's Day surprise.
We were so busy, there very nearly wasn't time for hot chocolate but our favourite visitors (Lola and friends) couldn't resist coming to say hello when we started eating the biscuits!
